Special Athletes of Pakistan Won 28 Medals in Asia Pacific Games 2013

Pakistani’s once again proved that they don’t lack talent and prove themselves whenever they are given an opportunity. Pakistan finished as victorious on last day of special Olympics Asia Pacific Games 2013. These games were organized in New Castle, Australia. Pakistan won 28 out of 51 Medals.

Indeed a very great achievement by Pakistan’s special athletes. 2500 athletes from all over Asia participated in the competition and Pakistan competed in 7 disciplines. Pakistan discovered some extra ordinary talent in these games which have taken attention of the whole world. Sohail Ahmaed khan was star of the show by winning 3 gold medals. He competed in badminton competition and won gold in every type of the game.

At first he won gold in men singles afterwards he won gold with a male partner Muhammad Nouman and after that he paired with Qurat-ul-Ain in mixed doubles and also won gold medal in that competition as well. Pakistani participants showed great courage to stand against the participants of those countries who have great facilities and funds. 15 year Old Muneeb also won 2 medals in 25m breast stroke and 25 meter free style swimming events.

The official with the special athletes said that “Our athletes found a real connection with the other participants and that made them very happy.” Pakistan’s special athletes really made us proud by winning 28 medals in such big event. Its just the opportunities that are required else Pakistan has got great talent. Whenever Pakistan is given a chance to prove themselves they prove it the way it need to be proved.  We wish best of the luck to these athletes who made us proud and salute them for their efforts and achievements.
