Muhammad Waseem Confirms Silver Medal For Pakistan in Commonwealth Games 2014

Due to brilliant performance of fly-weight (52 KG) boxer Muhammad Waseem, Pakistan sure is now contender for another silver medal in Commonwealth Games 2014.

Muhammad Waseem beat Abdul Omar of Ghana in Glasgow on Friday. 26-years old Muhammad Waseem is confident to win first gold medal in Commonwealth Games 2014 for Pakistan. He will have to win against Andrew Moloney from Australia to make this dream come true. Final is on Saturday 2nd of August 2014.

After winning the semi-final, Muhammad Waseem said

I have been working so hard for this moment and all credit goes to Almighty ALLAH who gave me the strength

Muhammad Waseem is from Quetta and he was not at all satisfied with the training camps organized in Pakistan for the preparation of Commonwealth Games 2014. On this account he said that

This time I am not so satisfied with the training in the National Camp, which was conducted for a short period of time, but I will try to do my best

Muhammad Waseem idolizes American Boxer Mike Tyson and it seems that he is determined to become a hero for the nation and win first and probably the only Gold Medal for Pakistan in Commonwealth Games 2014. He also showed gratitude to the Pakistani British boxer Amir Khan who held a short sparring session with him just before the fight. Waseem in this regard said that

Amir Khan and I had a short sparring session. Thanks brother for being here and supporting me. I hope someday I have that privilege to face you. Thanks for all the tips

Muhammad Waseem will now face 23-year-old Andrew Moloney in the final. In Round of 16 he faced Malaysian Jaya Rama Selvakumar. In Quarter Final, Waseem beat Moroke Mokhoto of Lesotho while Abdul Omar of Ghana was his opponent in the Semi-Final.
