15 year old Students of Pakistan Won Debating Competition of IDEA in Mexico

Pakistan’s team beat South Korea in the finals. Two team members, Zainab Hameed and Azeem Liaquat, take the first and second position respectively as the best speakers at the competition while the third member, Ahmed Shujaan, scored the fifth position. All three participants were listed in the top 10 speakers of tournament. The titled was achieved after winning through 6 preliminary rounds, 3 elimination rounds and the grand final. Karachi Grammar School student Zainab Hameed was named the top speaker of the competition while Azeem Liaquat, student of the Salamat International Campus for Advanced Studies in Lahore, came second. List of 19 Pakistani Journalists bribed by Malik Riaz

Pakistani  journalists who took money from Malik Riaz for favoring the Malik Riaz and his group. A record of payments allegedly made to 19 senior-journalists of Pakistan, by the Bahria Town owner Malik Riaz has surfaced on the social networking site Twitter, Aaj News reported. An account of favors allegedly given to these journalists in shapes of money, cars and property etc is recorded in these trademarked letterheads of Bahria Town. Ghazala Javeed shot dead in Dubgari Garden along with her father.She went to Dubargi Garden to meet her beautician and when she came out of there a car stopped in front of her car three men came out and opened the fire the victim with her father died on the spot. She had 6 bullets in her body and her body was taken to Lady reading  Hospital Peshawar. The whole family of Ghazala is pointing that its her husband who killed her. Fauzia Wahab Died On 17th June 2012

Fauzia Wahab had gone through surgery of  gall bladder and was in comma. The surgery hadn’t gone well for her as internal bleeding was not stopping and she had to go through the surgery twice but all in vain. Budget of Pakistan For Year 2012-13 Announced

Today on 1st June 2012 budget of Pakistan has been announced for the year 2012-13 in which government fixed Rs. 545.36 billion for defense, Rs. 47 billion for education and Rs. 7 billion for health and fuel prices also decreased. I condemned the reduction in education spending from 2 per cent to 1.8 per cent in the federal budget.   Objectives of the Budget: Reducing the higher rates of Sales Tax from 22% and 19.5% to 16%. Voters Verification Via SMS Service Launched

All Telecom companies has made agreement with Election Comission and NADRA for voters verification through SMS and now the service is launched by Election Commission of Pakistan. This technology has various advantages like voter could get all the information regarding his/her vote within seconds. This service would minimize the possibility of errors in the Final Electoral Rolls. Apart from the display centres, this service could be considered as Virtual Display Centres where the voters sitting anywhere in the country, be able to check his/her vote’s detail. In order to protect the privacy of a voter, the name, parentage and home address would not be shown in the SMS.

Punjab Sports Festival 2012 : Now start from 23 January

Punjab Government has planned to launch mega sports event in upcoming year. Punjab Sports Festival 2012 is the Sports Board has extended the date of start of event by one week. To ensure registration of all participants, the Punjab Sports Festival 2012 shall now start from January 23, 2012 instead of earlier announced date of January 16, 2012. Atif Aslam Concert Incident : Three Girls Died and a Dozen Injured in Punjab College

During a concert of Atif Aslam  organized by a Punjab Group of Colleges at Al-Hamra Cultural Complex a stampede broke out due to being overfilled and resulted in death of three girls and injuring five others.According to reports, the deceased girls were students aged between 17-22. They were Maheen Naseem, 17, Sara Nawaz, 22 and Nimra, 16.There were reportedly between 6000 and 7000 girls at the concert, beyond the venue’s capacity.Rescue 1122 had reached the venue and shifted the dead bodies and five critically injured girls to hospital.

Punjab Govt Bans Mobile Phones in Schools & Colleges

Provincial Assembly pressed Punjab Government to restrict girls and boys from using mobile phones in their schools and colleges throughout the province. The resolution was moved by Raheela Khadim Hussain, a PML-N MPA from Lahore, and was passed unanimously in the House. Raheela Khadim Hussain maintained mobile phone is a necessity but students remain busy in texting their friends during classes and hence don’t concentrate on their studies. Raheela Hussain told the house that there is already a law in the country regarding the ban of mobile phones in educational institutes, which is not being implemented. She said that she moved the bill to make sure that already available law is implemented at least in province of Punjab.

7 Pakistanis Indicted in Benazir Bhutto’s Killing

An anti-terrorist court (ATC) of Rawalpindi has indicted seven persons including former CCPO Rawalpindi Saud Aziz and former SP Rawal Town Khurram Shahzad in the Benazir Bhutto (BB) murder case on Saturday, Geo News reported. The court has not indicted former president Pervaiz Musharraf in the case. The Rawalpindi ATC heard the case in Adiala jail where the accused were presented before the court. The accused denied the charges against them on which the court instructed to present witnesses in the next hearing. Therefore, the hearing was adjourned till November 19. The main accused, Aziz and Shahzad, are currently out on bail. Benazir Bhutto was killed on December 27, 2007 in a suicide attack after an election rally in Rawalpindi.
