Rupees one million fines have been imposed on 36 Pakistani TV channels by Government of Pakistan for showing immoral and vulgar scenes in their programs.
National Assembly passed a resolution in this regard unanimously and the action was taken afterwards. The resolution was put forward by Sahibzada Tariqullah of Jamat-i-Islami back in April 2014.
Jamat-i-Islami MNA Sher Akbar Khan requested for the list of TV channels not following the PEMRA’s code of conduct regarding ethics on airing such vulgar and immoral content.
Famous names like Geo Entertainment, ARY Digital, Hum TV and A-Plus along with others are also present in this list and are the top sources of such vulgar content.
Minister for information and broadcasting, Pervez Rashid said that these channels are violating the rules of PEMRA and they are fined for doing so. This will be a signal to the TV channels to refrain from doing things like these in the future.
Vulgarity and immorality is wide spread on almost all TV channels and it is a big concern for everyone having a family. Vulgarity in Pakistani drama serials has been talked about for quite some time now. Mehwish Hayat and Shamoon are hugging in the following clip and in another clip shared below Shamoon and Javeria Abbasi are doing romance and Shamoon kisses her on neck.
Back in the past, Pakistani dramas were considered the best as they used to captivate the audience with their strong storyline and best acting but now a days, channels try to increase their ratings by showing vulgarity and try to attract the viewers with it.
