Lots of new user face problems and difficulty in configuring their modems sometimes even finding the panel for the login. Which is actually a very simple task in doing. You can open PTCL router from another PC using this same method as well.
How to Open PTCL DSL/Wireless Router Settings:
All you need to do is, Open your favorite browser
- Enter IP Address:
192.168.1.1 in your browser (192.168.10.1 if first doesn’t work) - A prompt will come asking User name and password
- Username: admin
Password: admin
Note: In few cases its User & User for both. If none of above listed username of password work, please check at the back of your DSL Modem. Due to increased security Modern modems have random generated passwords listed on the back.
4.Login Prompt
Both username and password will be same as Admin and Admin, this is default provided by PTCL in their DSL modems and Wireless DSL Routers. If not check back your PTCL router

PTCL router IP is same for all PTCL DSL modems along with password and username.

Please keep in mind after saving the settings you WiFi router will reboot and if you are connected over WiFi you will face disconnection for a moment. However, LAN users wont face this issue.

Quick setup guide for Kasda KW 58283
1. Connect the Modem as shown in the following diagram
2. Open web browser and type “192.168.10.1” to get the access of the modem. Following window will pop up; input user name “admin” and password in printed at sticker on the bottom panel of modem(default password is last 5 digits of MAC address).
If the connections are Ok, you will be directed to following page.
3. Click “Easy Installation” and you will be prompted for username and password as can be seen in following snapshot. Please enter username and password as provided by the PTCL representative and click “Apply/Save”
4. You can also configure the modem manually by clicking on the “Advance installation” as shown in following snapshot.
5. Click “Edit” as highlighted in red in above snapshot and you will be redirected to following page.
6. Enter the username and password as provided by the PTCL representative and check the options as shown in the above snapshot and click “Next” , following page will be displayed, Finally click “Save” , to save the configuration.
Configuration for WLAN
- Go to browser and type “192.168.10.1”, you will be directed to main page.
- Click on Wireless and you will be redirected to following page, put check on “Enable Wireless”
and “WMF” , by default the SSID is “PTCL-BB” you can change the SSID as per your requirement.
3. Click on Security to set the password for WLAN, click on “Security Tab” to direct to following page. Kindly change the parameters as per your requirement and press “Save”
As a regular PTCL user in Pakistan, I know how tricky it can be for many people to login into their PTCL router and change the WiFi password, especially if you’ve never accessed these settings before. Don’t worry—I’ll explain the process step by step in simple Pakistani English, so even if you’re not a tech expert, you can do it yourself at home. These instructions work for both DSL and wireless (Home-Fi) routers.
How to Login to Your PTCL Router (2025 Method)
Before you start, make sure:
- You are connected to your PTCL router via WiFi or using a LAN cable.
- It’s always safer to use a wired connection (with LAN cable) during settings update to avoid disconnecting during changes[1].
Step 1: Find the Router IP Address
Most PTCL routers use one of these two IP addresses:
- 192.168.1.1
- 192.168.10.1
This IP is usually written behind your router. If one doesn’t work, just try the other[1][5][6][8].
Step 2: Login Details
Open Google Chrome (or any web browser) and type the IP address in the address bar, then press Enter. A login page will appear asking for the username and password.
- Default Username: admin
- Default Password: admin
Both username and password are usually admin (all small letters). If these don’t work, check the sticker on your router or router box—it’s always printed there. Otherwise, you may need to contact PTCL helpline for your device’s username and password[1][5][6].
Resetting Forgotten Password
If you can’t remember the password, press and hold the reset button found at the back of your router for 5-10 seconds using a pin. This will restore all settings to default (including username/password)[1].
Step 3: Enter the Admin Panel
Once you successfully login, you’ll see the admin panel dashboard with many options for WiFi, LAN, security, etc[6][10].
How to Change Your PTCL WiFi Password
This method works for almost all PTCL routers currently used in 2025 (like DSL and Home-Fi):
- Click on “Wireless” (on the left-side menu)
- Now, select “Security” under the Wireless section[5][6].
- Find the bar or box named “WPA/WAPI passphrase” (or “WiFi Password”)
That’s where your current WiFi password is written. - Delete the old password, and enter your new strong password.
Make sure it is easy for you to remember but hard for others to guess. - Click the Apply or Save button at the bottom of the page.
- Wait for the router to reboot (some routers restart automatically, others just update in a few seconds).
After that, your WiFi will start working with the new password.
You’ll now have to enter this new password on all your devices (phones, laptops, etc.) that connect with your WiFi[5][6].
Tips for PTCL Wireless Router (Home-Fi) Users
The procedure is almost same for PTCL wireless (4G or LTE/“Home-Fi”) routers[3]:
- Open 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.10.1 in your browser.
- Login with admin/admin.
- Go to Wireless → Security.
- Change password and save.

- Can’t login with “admin”?
- Double check if CAPS LOCK is on.
- Try password from sticker on router or PTCL box.
- Call PTCL helpline and request correct credentials[2].
- Forgot admin password?
- Use the reset button at the back of the router to factory reset it[1].

- Forget the old connection on your device and reconnect by entering the new password[6].
