Earlier it was being said that chances of survivors are low and almost forty-seven passengers who were on PIA flight from Chitral City to Islamabad have died. The flight that was scheduled to arrive in Islamabad at 4:40 PM disappeared from the air control radar near Abbottabad. After an investigation, it was found that flight has already been crashed near Havelian.
“We regret to inform that PIA’s ATR-42 aircraft operating as PK-661; carrying around 40 persons lost its contact with a control tower on its way from Chitral to Islamabad a short while ago. All resources are being mobilized to locate the aircraft. Media will be kept informed as the situation develops,” PIA spokesperson Danial Gilani said in a statement.
