ICC ODI Batsmen’s Ranking: Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman gets upsurge


Pakistan Cricket team’s bowling department has always been phenomenal with greats like Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis leading from the front, but finally, the days have come when youngsters are doing superbly in the batting department as well. The latest ICC ODI Batsmen’s Ranking is a proof of it as the prodigies like Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman has made a tremendous rise.  The middle-order batsman, who is often compared with the Great Kohli is consistently bringing results for Green Shirts. On the other hand, Champions Trophy 2017, Zaman is keeping up the same pace and form since his debut.


The Pakistani star opener is just getting better with every passing day and his recent performance against Zimbabwe is a proof of it. Zaman witnessed the upsurge in ICC ODI Rankings of batsman with his consistent performances, and the gigantic 200, which he made him the first ever Pakistani to do so.  At the same time, one can’t ignore his tremendous performances in   T20I Tri-series as well, where he smashed match-winning 91 against Australia in the finals. Getting the fruit of his tremendous batting, he has got an upsurge at batting rankings, where he stands tall on the 16th rank.

On the other hand, Babar Azam has been the pivotal character of Pakistan cricket from over the years. Just at the age of 23, he has proved his mettle and is now compared to the modern-day greats. It won’t be wrong to say that Azam is the skeleton of the Pakistan Cricket team’s batting lineup.
