Amna Nawaz is currently working at PBS News Program ‘News Hour’ as a Senior Correspondent. Amna Nawaz is going to co-moderate the December 19th, Sixth Democratic Primary Presidential debate that is going to held in Los Angeles California. Amna Nawaz has already from a very well known family background that is linked with media and Pakistan’s armed forces. She is the daughter of Shuja Nawaz, who was a journalist of Pakistan Television (PTV news) who is a very well known person at the Atlantic Council in Washington. There is another surprising fact about Amna Nawaz, that she is the niece of the late Asif Nawaz Janjua who was the former Chief Of Army Staff, Pakistan.
Amna Nawaz is an American broadcast Journalist and she has worked for ABC News and NBC News also. There is a long list of awards that has been given to Amna Nawaz which includes, News & Documentary Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing and the Society for Features Journalism award also. Amna Nawaz was born in Virginia on September 18, 1979, but her parents are from Pakistan. Amna Nawaz got a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania in politics, philosophy, and economics in 2001. She also holds a master’s degree in comparative politics from the London School of Economics.
She wanted to become a lawyer, but soon she developed an interest in journalism and she is here now. She anchored U.S. election and national political coverage in 2016 and 2017. She got an International Reporting Project fellowship in 2009. In 2010, Nawaz shared a News & Documentary Emmy Award for the NBC News special Inside the Obama White House. Later she was a correspondent and bureau chief at NBC’s Islamabad bureau. She has also worked for the Nightline program on ABC News. She is a nation of the United States of America and married Paul Werdel there.
