Admissions for Master’s Programme (Spring Semester 2012) of Quaid-i-Azam University
is open on Regular/Self Finance Basis. Applications are invited for admission to Master’s programme from the candidates who possess at least a second class Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a recognized University in the following subjects by 30-12-2011 positively.

Note: – The minimum duration of all above mentioned Master’s programme is 2-years (4-Semesters) whereas the minimum duration of MBA will be 3-1/2 years (7-Semesters).
Eligibility:
The applicants must possess at least a second class Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a recognized University subject to the condition that they meet the requirements of major subjects passed for the Bachelor’s degree as given in Appendix-A of the Prospectus. Admissions will be made on merit as per regional quota. Candidates who are more than 26-years old shall not be eligible for admission unless relaxation is granted by the Vice-Chancellor for special reasons on the recommendations of the Chairperson of the respective Department.No relaxation in age limit will be granted for MBA/MPA. Priority of subjects once opted shall not be changed under any circumstances. A candidate can opt maximum three preferences in subjects either on Regular OR Self Finance and/or both in the same subjects. Admission on Self Finance basis will not be converted into Regular basis after displaying of final merit list.
Ineligibility:
The following are not eligible for admission to Master’s programme:
- Those who have failed in Master’s Programme of this University.
- Those who have ceased to be the student of this University.
- Those who already possess a Master’s or an equivalent degree from this or any other University.
- Students who are already on rolls of the M.Sc. Programme of this University or any other University.
Seats Available On Self-Finance Basis On Open Merit
Some additional seats on Self Finance basis to be filled strictly on merit would be offered in each discipline except Psychology where twenty seats would be on Self-Finance basis.
Reserved Seats
One seat in each department of the University is reserved for admission of the children of Army Personnel and would be offered ONLY on the nomination of GHQ.
One seat in each department of the University is reserved for Minorities subject to production of certificate from the Institution last attended that the candidate belongs to the Minority Community.
One seat in each department of the University is reserved for admission of disabled persons subject to the condition that the disabled person must provide his/her disability certificate duly issued by the District Assessment Board along with other conditions as approved by the University Statutory Bodies.
Aptitude Tests:
Aptitude Tests for admission to the disciplines of MBA/MPA, Psychology, History, DSS, Chemistry, International Relations, Political Science, Gender Studies, Computer Science, Pakistan Studies, Physics & Electronics, the applicants will be required to take an Aptitude Test and pass it with at least 40% marks as per schedule given below. Only those who pass the aptitude test will be considered for admission which will be determined purely on merit basis without giving any credit to the test score.
Only NTS based NAT II-A test required for MBA/MPA admission
- NTS test will be conducted on 25th December, 2011 by NTS as per their own schedule. Information available on their website www.nts.org.pk. Last date for registration with NTS is December 10, 2011. Candidates interested in admission are supposed to register on their own for the NAT II-A test with NTS.
- Only those who will pass the NTS will be considered for admission which will be determined purely on merit basis without giving any credit to the test score.
- In case a candidate misses the registration deadline for Test on December 25, 2011, they can register and appear in the Test at University premises on
- 08-01-2012. The last date for registration is 30-12-2011.
- Students appearing in the test on December 25, 2011 are required to provide hard copies of these results to the Admission Section latest by 09-01-2012
- positively.
Candidates appearing for Test must bring original CNIC & Admission Form Receipt, for identification.
Equivalence Certificates And Conversion Of Grades Into Marks:
Candidates having foreign certificates/degrees should provide equivalence certificates and conversion of the grades into marks from HEC, Islamabad for Bachelor level degrees and from Inter Board Committee for Matric and Intermediate level. Certificates/Degrees with CGPA of local Universities/Institutions also require conversion of grades into marks from the concerned Universities/Institutions in Pakistan.
Application Forms:
The Admission Forms can be obtained from the camp office of the Admission Section located in DRSM (Central Library) of the University @ Rs.700/- OR by sending self addressed envelope of 8.5 x 11(inches) to the Assistant Registrar (Admissions) along with a Bank Draft of Rs.800/- in favour of the Treasurer, Quaid-i-Azam University by 22-12-2011 OR Application Forms can be submitted “ON LINE” at (www.qau.edu.pk) where all relevant instructions are available.

Hostel Accommodation:
A limited number of seats in the University Hostels are available which will be provided on first come first serve basis.
Financial Assistance/Scholarships
QAU is offering financial assistance to the needy and deserving students admitted on regular basis.
Note:
1.The priorities/preferences of the subjects would remain intact till the applicant gets admission against his/her first priority/ preference OR finalization of the admission process, whichever is earlier. The dues/fee paid by the applicant according to the earlier merit list would automatically be shifted/adjusted if his/her name appeared in the subsequent list (s) against the filled priorities/preferences.
2.In case of incorrect/misleading information or concealment of facts, the University will have the right to refuse/cancel the admission and expel the student from the University..
3.The applicants are advised to fill the priorities/preferences carefully because once filled the priorities/preferences would not be allowed to change/shift under any circumstances.
4.No call up letter will be sent separately.
5.Data of all applicants will be available on the University website on 03-01-2012.
