Indeed a good gesture by Faraz Waqar, a graduate from New York film academy who has made a musical film as tribute to Nazia Hassan based on Nazia Hassan music. The film is named “imagineer”. Lots and lots of work is going on in Pakistani cinema and this is another proof of that is this movie “imaginer” by Faraz Waqar. Faraz Waqar is one of the biggest fans of Nazia Hassan’s music and personality but It won’t be wrong if one say that he is die hard fan of Nazia Hassan. Faraz says that Nazia Hassan is literally mother of pop music in Indo-Pak subcontinent. Millions of Nazia’s fans can be found around the world.
The actress had charismatic personality and fresh approach towards music. Moving back to the movie which Faraz had made it as a tribute to Nazia, the movie is set to be released this August on 13th death anniversary of great pop singer. Its a dark side of our nation that we don’t give credit and honor to our national hero’s when they get out of sight. Well the young and ambitious director wants to change this trend of not giving honor to our national hero’s and that’s why he came up with this film. The movie is based on music of Nazia Hassan.
The producer and director Faraz said that “do you know that first music videos ever made in sub-continent were of Nazia’s songs?” The movie has been shot in UAE with actors, models and editors from different countries like Switzerland, Palestine and India have been involved. Faraz says that I realized Nazia’s achievements when I moved out of Pakistan and found her international fans specially from India at that time I wish that I could make a movie having her music and dedicate it to her. The young director has directed a movie “9:11 am” which was presented at world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and South Asian Film Festival (MOSAIC) in Canada. With direction of Faraz and music of Nazia this movie has great potential to be a block buster.
