According to a weekly poll held by UK based newspaper Eastern Eye, Katrina Kaif has won the “World’s Sexiest Asian Woman” award. This is not the first time she has won this award. This has been the 4th consecutive year that she has become “World’s Sexiest Asian Woman”.
The victory wasn’t an easy one. She managed to leave behind Miss World of the year 2000 Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone by a very small margin and secured the crown.
Katrina Kaif these days is waiting for her blockbuster movie “Dhoom 3” and she expressed her views about this victory in a very nice manner. She said that
I didn’t know it was a record! That’s a nice surprise and a lot of fun to hear. I like it because Eastern Eye newspaper is the one my sisters see because they live in London. It’s lovely, but also people are reacting to what they see.
She further said that,
obviously if everyone were to see me when I wake up in the morning or in my track pants and then vote for me, then maybe I would be a little bit more believing of it myself. But of course it’s very flattering.
It is quite amazing to know that Top 50 positions in this award were dominated by Indian TV stars like Drashti Dhami, Jennifer Winget, Nia Sharma, Asha Negi, Rubina Dilaik and Krystal D’Souza.
Mehreen Syed and Humaima Malick were the only two Pakistani stars who made it to top 50 list. Humaima Malick secured 15th spot while Mehreen Syed was rated as 22nd World’s Sexiest Asian Woman.
Old superstars like Madhuri Dixit and Sri Devi also secured positions in the Top 50. Madhuri secured 23rd position while Sri Devi secured 40th position.
Other prominent positions by Bollywood are Shraddha Kapoor (12th position), Sonam Kapoor (5th position), Parineeti Chopra (14th position), Sunidhi Chauhan (28th position) while Shreya Goshal managed to secure 43rd position.
