Nawaz Sharif Government always comes up with some schemes that are directed towards poor and middle class people. In his government in early 1990’s he came up with yellow taxi in his previous government he came up with Rozgar scheme and Ashiyana scheme and now a new scheme Prime Minister’s Youth Bussiness Loan. The scheme is intended to for young entrepreneurs who lies in age group of 21-45 years.
The loan takers will be charged with subsidised mark up of 8% per annum. The scheme has been designed for 100,000 beneficiaries. National Bank of Pakistan and First Women Bank Limited have been selected to provide these loans. Small business loan will be given for a period with maximum limit of 8 years in the loan period first year will be grace period. The loan will be given to 100,000 selected candidates across Pakistan with a debt equity of 90:10 will be implemented.
One very prominent point in this scheme is that 50% of the candidates will be females it means women’s have been given equal opportunity in this scheme. While the scheme has also taken in to account the families of Shuhada’s, Widows and disabled persons as well as they have been allocated 5% quota in the scheme. Pre-feasibilities in eight sectors are being carried out by SMEDA. The pre feasibility reports are available at website of SMEDA these feasibilities provide apprehension of business plans and proposed business.
Let’s see how much benefit this plan provide to a common man. We hope and pray that beneficiaries of the scheme end up in profit. Rozgar Scheme didn’t prove to be very successful but many well-off people took advantage of it. We hope that the real needy and deserving candidates get benefit from this scheme.
