Although she is from America but her love with Qawali and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s voice forced her to visit Lahore. Jessica told the media that she once heard Qawali sung by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan in an audio tape and it really turned around her life. She accepted Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan as her spiritual teacher and here she is, from the last six months she is present in Lahore, learning to play different instruments used in Qawali and she also intends to spread Qawali in the whole world.
She insisted that Sufi music has its spiritual qualities that are needed by a society like America. She currently is learning Tabla under the guidance of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s Tabla Nawaz. Not only she has been inspired by the Sufi music and Qawali but she is also taking interest in Islam. She is learning about Islam along with learning Qawali.
