Malala Yousafzai is once again nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for the year 2014. Labor Party of Norway once again suggested Malala Yousafzai’s name to be presented for Nobel Peace Prize for her contribution to education and peace. Legislators of the Labor party emphasized that Malala Yousafzai has fought for education and peace and she truly deserves the prize. It has been confirmed in Oslo by Freddy de Ruiter some other members of parliament.
Malala was nominated in 2013 as well for the Nobel Peace Prize. She was shot in head by Taliban back in October 2012, while returning from school to home in Swat, Pakistan and was shifted for treatment to Great Britain. She never returned back and she is currently living over there. She is highly criticized in Pakistan but west and rest of the world do appreciate her.
Nobel Prize was first awarded in 1901 and it is awarded in many fields including literature, medicine, physics, chemistry, peace and economics and it is considered to be the most prestigious award in the world.
It is a pity that there are so many great minds in Pakistan but till this point in time, Pakistan has managed to grab only one Nobel prize laureate. It happened back in 1979 when Dr. Abdus Salam was awarded Nobel Prize for his marvelous efforts in Physics. On the contrary, India has managed to grab a total of 7 Nobel prizes and the latest one was held by India back in 2009.
The question arises in the mind that if Malala Yousafzai manages to win the Nobel peace prize in the year 2014, will she be accepting it as a Pakistani or a British?
