Pakistan is at 164th spot in FIFA world rankings while India is at 150th ranking. Both these teams met once again after almost a decade to play a series against each other. The last series played between these two was won by Pakistan back in year 2005. Series has been organized in India. Playing at home ground of arch rivals is a very tough task. The first match of the series was won by India by 1-0.
Indian fans were hoping to win the series after winning last match or a draw would have been enough. The second match of the series started off and Pakistan from the very beginning was in attacking mode and was knocking door. The green team kept knocking and in 38th minute it was captain of Pakistan who gave them the edge over their rivals. Still the Indian fans were hopeful that a single goal will not only save match for them but will win them the series. 5000 people were there to watch the game.
After scoring the goal Pakistani defense was determined for not letting Indians to score. Pakistan knew that this goal will draw series for them but if the concede any goal they will be losing the series. It was 89th minute goal from Hussain that confirmed the match in favor of Pakistan. The Indian crowd was put silence by the second goal because they were hoping for a single goal to win series. Team Pakistan played very well and snatched the match from India and came back home successful.
If one analyze the series on goal difference than Pakistan has won this series. Both the teams are going to meet once again a month later in Asian games. Asian games will be held in South Korea. Its a good sign that both these countries are starting playing with each other. Whenever these two teams meet, people get a chance to watch some healthy competition. The football craze is increasing among Indian and Pakistan and it would be very beneficial for both the countries to play against each other as this will enhance skill level of both the teams.
