DJ Butt got fame recently by playing the sound and music at PTI sit-in in Islamabad. It has been confirmed that he has been arrested today on Friday by the Capital Police.
Press release of PTI strongly condemned this action of Islamabad Police and said that Police have arrested DJ Butt and other PTI workers from a guest house. They demanded his immediate release.
Reports claim that music and sound in-charge of PTI sit-ins, DJ Butt was arrested along with some other activists from PTI on instructions of interior ministry on Friday. As yet the real reason of his arrest could not be determined but there are rumors that DJ Butt has been arrested on charge of having drugs. This information could not be confirmed till yet.
Dr. Shireen Mazari who is the Central Information Secretary of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf has strongly condemned arrest of DJ Butt in early hours of Friday morning from his place of staying accompanied by some other party workers who were from different parts of Islamabad. The statement further said that
This is sheer government terrorism as no law has been broken by DJ Butt who merely looked after the sound system at the Azadi Dharna
DJ Butt has been providing his professional services to PTI since 2011 but he recently came to fame due to his presence for long hours in the sit-in and keeping the spirits of participants intact. DJ Butt met PTI chairman Imran Khan for the first time back on 22nd April 2011 and since then he has been attached to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf.
