Umar Akmal’s Nikkah Ceremony took place far away from electronic and print media’s eyes in Lahore. The Nikkah ceremony of Umar Akmal took place in Hazrat Miyan Mir Darbar Masjid where his brother Kamran Akmal, former cricketer and his father in law Abdul Qadir and family members from both sides attended the ceremony.
Nikkah of Umar Akmal was read by his Peer Sahib Muhammad Nazar and duration of the ceremony was kept very short. Umar Akmal and Abdul Qadir families had decided to keep media away from the ceremony as both were of the opinion that during the traffic warden fight incidence, media took a negative stance against Umar Akmal and has damaged public image of Umar Akmal.
Umar Akmal made his ODI debut on 1st of August 2009 against Sri Lanka while his Test debut was against New Zealand on 23rd of November 2009. His engagement with Noor Amna (Abdul Qadir’s daughter) was announced a while ago and during the World T20 when he made 94 runs in a match against Australia, he was given the good news from his family that his marriage date is fixed.
How Noor Amna and Umar Akmal Met for the First Time?
Umar Akmal happened to see Noor Amna (daughter of Abdul Qadir) for the first time in the wedding of his brother. This was the beginning of something special between the two. Although things are not very confirm about the story but this is how it has been mentioned everywhere.
Although Nikkah ceremony has already taken place and very recently too but the Wedding ceremony and Walima ceremony are not too far. Wednesday and Thursday (16th and 17th of April 2014) are the dates for these two ceremonies.
Umar Akmal has said that instead of going for Honeymoon with his wife, he will go with his wife and family members to perform Umrah.
This indeed is a happy moment for Umar Akmal’s family and most of all one of the most happiest moment in the life of Noor Amna and Umar Akmal. We wish them both best of luck.
