Allama Muhammad Iqbal (9 November 1877 – 21 April 1938)
9th November, Iqbal Day is celebrated with patriotic solemnity and full zeal countrywide. The day is the birth anniversary of one of the all time greatest poet of sub-continent, the day is marked as a public holiday and people countrywide pay homage to their national hero.
Allama Muhammad Iqbal played pivotal role in uprising Muslims of Sub-continent and showing them the right path, which led them to set a free state, where they can practice their religion as per their wishes.
Iqbal for his prestigious work in art and literature is regarded as ‘Shair-e-Mashriq’ (Poet of the East) and is also titled as ‘Mufakkir-e-Pakistan’ (The Thinker of Pakistan).

Firstly, it was announced that there will be public holiday on the day but later on the news came up that this year there will be no holiday, however, the reason behind cancellation of the holiday wasn’t announced.
