Just after the launch of 2016 Honda Civic Sedan in United States, Honda has announced the engine specifications of its 2017 Honda Civic model. The 2017 Honda model will be entirely different from the previous models as promised by Honda.
Honda is planning to introduce new 127 HP 1.0 Liter and 201 HP VTEC Turbo Engines in the 10th generation Civic. Honda has out the brief details of these engines along with power specifications.
First there is 1.0 L VTEC Turbo Engine that is being launched for top fuel efficiency and for an output of 1.0 liter class engine. The feature of 127 hp 1.0 liter VTEC Turbo Engine are: it is the combination of high efficiency turbocharger, variable valve mechanism and direct injection that yield high output and torque; and secondly this new 127 hp engine is for low friction that is its designing purpose. If talk about overall performance, then torque is 15% more than previous one. Currently these engines are under testing procedure and after successful experiment will be passed for 2017 Honda Civic.

- Compression Ratio: 10.0
- Fuel Injection Type: direct injection
- Maximum Output: 95 kW
- Maximum Torque: 200 N-m
Just like 127 hp 1.0 L VTEC Turbo Engine, 201 hp 1.5 L will be for providing top class torque and maintain the fuel efficiency. It will be more light-weight than 127 hp 1.0 L and will be of compact design.
Technologies being used in 201 hp 1.5 L VTEC Turbo Engine:
Some technologies being used in 201 hp 1.5 L are nearly similar to 127 hp 1.0 L. However, there are some variations as well.

- Fuel Injection Type: direct injection
- Maximum Output: 150 kW
- Maximum Torque: 26 N-m
Both engine are coming with totally new design. Aluminum is the main material that is being used for their construction. Honda is also aiming to reduce the weight of both as well that will be surely an edge for Honda to present the 10th generation Civic in a unique style.
