Internet.org is the initiative of Facebook with the aim of providing free internet. However, free internet is restricted to some websites only. Facebook has launched this global project in collaboration with six multination mobile and cellular companies that are Samsung, Ericsson, MediaTek, Opera Software, Nokia and Qualcomm. At present, Internet.org is providing its services in fifteen countries of the world including Pakistan. Internet.org started its services in Pakistan on May 28, 2015 in collaboration with Telenor Pakistan.
How to use free mobile internet in Pakistan?
In order to get the free internet services of internet.org, you are required to be the SIM holder of Telenor.
Two ways of using Internet.org
Method 1:
Visit FreeBasics.com from your mobile phone
From Free Basics platform, Facebook provides the free access to basic internet services in various countries. These services are without any data charges.
Method 2:
Install and use Free Basics Android application and stay in touch with the free websites by Internet.org. Free Basics Android includes access to free websites including AccuWeather, BabyCenter & MAMA, BBC News, Dictionary.com, ESPN, Facebook, UNICEF and list of websites by country.
