Movie “SHAH”, a sports entertainment biopic based on the-the life of legendary Pakistani boxer Syed Hussain Shah, is to be launched in movie theater countrywide on the 14th of August 2015.
Hussain Shah began his life as a homeless kid on the roads of Karachi as well as continued to dominate Asian boxing for nearly a decade before becoming the 1st South Asian history to win an Olympic Bronze Medal in Boxing at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. He remains the only Pakistani player to win an individual medal at the Olympic Games in the more than 50 years.
The film includes a mostly completely new cast, with Lahori musician and also actor Adnan Sarwar representing Hussain Shah on the big screen after undergoing a year long boxing training course to prepare for the role. Other cast participants include Adeel Raees, Sardar Baloch, Kiran Chaudhry and Gulab Chandio.
The movie is backed by some of the prime brands of Pakistan, assisting to bring the story of the neglected Pakistani hero to local viewers. Bank Alfalah, Pepsi and Samsung have become a member of the film production as brand partners and also have given funding for the project.
Shah has been produced by Logos Films and is being distributed in movie theaters across Pakistan by Footprint Entertainment.
