A unique music competition to encourage the professionals and beginners of Tappay (an old genre of the local folk music) is going to be held from today in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by the Department of Culture & Tourism Govt. of KPK. The competition will start from today and will last till December 10, 2015.
The first competition of the Ya Qurban Music Competition that is scheduled for today will be held in Mardan. Final is at December 10, 2015, and will be held at Nishtar Hall Peshawar. The name of the competition Ya Qurban described two words of tappa is for those who love the old genre folk music of Pashto, Hindko, and Saraiki folk music. Now it’s the time for professional of tappay to show their talent.
KPK government has really introduced a good culture. The best one about this competition is that at divisional level the award will be named at the famous folk singer of the respective division and the award for the winner at the provincial level would be named after famous ‘tappay’ singer Ahmad Khan.
Remember that dates again, competition for the first, second and third position holders of the divisional level would be organised on December 10, 2015, at Nishtar Hall Peshawar. The registration for competition has already closed by the concerned authorities.
The prizes will be given in two categories, divisional level and provincial level.
Prize Money for Divisional Level Winners
First Winner: Rs. 100,000
Second Winner: Rs. 75,000
Third Winner: Rs. 50,000
Prize Money for Grand Finale Winners
The winner of the grand finale will get double prize money as compared to divisional level winners.
First Winner: Rs. 300,000
Second Winner: Rs. 200,000
Third Winner: Rs. 100,000
Schedule for competition at provincial level
- Mardan Division – November 14 at Sports Complex Mardan (10:00 AM). Mardan division award is associated with Fazl Rabi Ustad
- Hazara Division – November 18 at Jalala Auditorium Abbottabad (10:00 AM). Hindko award name is associated to Rasheed Hazarvi Ustad and Pashto Award to Ustad Zahir Khan Swati
- Peshawar Division – November 21 at Nishtar Hall Peshawar (10:00). Pashto award associated to Kiswar Sultan and Hindko to Inayat Ali Sultani.
- D.I.Khan Division – At Sports Complex DI Khan. Hindko award is associated to Ustad Patanay Khan and Pashto is attributed to Zar Sanga
- Kohat Division – November 29 at Community Hall. Award of Kohat division is attributed to Syed Hassan Ustad.
- Bannu Division – December 3 at Auditorium Hall. Award will be for Gul Nar Begium
- Malakanad Division – December 6 at Wadoddia Hall Saidu Sharif Swart and the Pashto language award is associated to Mashooq Sultan and Kohar language is associated to Gul Nawaz kaki.
The prize money will be given to the first three position holder of each division. All three position holders of each division will show their talent in the grand finale at December 10, 2015. The first three position holders in grand finale will be given prize money Rs. 300,000, Rs. 200,000 and Rs. 100,000 respectively.
