According to sources, Federal entities has approved Eid al-Fitr holidays starting from 28 of Ramadan 1437 Hijri years, corresponding to Tuesday, July 05, with work resuming on Monday, July 11, 2016.
The six days holiday is counting the Sunday weekly off that is on the last day of Eid al-Fitr. Meanwhile, the government is also reconsidering to minimize the already allotted holidays to the banking sector. Earlier, the federal government decided to allow eleven holidays before and during Eid al-Fitr. According to experts, it will cause billion rupee loss to the country and public will face the issue too.
Federal Ministry of Interior is the prime body into Pakistan to issue the list of annual public holidays in the country. Then comes the provincial government who decide at their own grant extra holidays as per local events or special traditions.
Eid al-Fitr is an important religious holiday celebrated in Pakistan just like other Muslim countries. It is the day that marks the end of Ramadan. It is the single day during which the Muslims are not allowed to fast. It is one of the most important events in the Muslim world.
