PSL’s 20th match was played on 17 February between Lahore Qalnadars and Islamabad United at Dubai international Cricket Stadium, Dubai.
It won’t be wrong to call it the spine-thrilling match of the tournament so far, as it was a decider match for the 4th place for the semis.
As we know that 5 teams were in battle for PSL trophy, out of them four teams were supposed to make place in Semi final.
Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United booked their place earlier in semis as they were good on the points table, although there was a stiff competition between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi.
Out of both these sides, one side was supposed to be shortlisted among top four teams of PSL which will be playing semi final round in the league.
Yesterday, two matches were played in PSL, both of them were decider for the fourth slot of PSL, amid all this drama one can say that Qalandars were quite unfortunate to book there place as in their last match they set a mammoth total on the board against Quetta Gladiators but lost it on the lass ball of the match.
The great looking batting line-up of Qalandars failed to deliver in the 20th match, as the top order suffered badly, later in the innings Umar Akmal and Sohaib Maqsood with their blistering knocks lead Qalandars to set 150 on the board after completion of 20 overs.
Islamabad United, who failed to impress in the beginning of PSL, recoiled back and adjusted for the 3rd position on the points table.
IU , while chasing 151 on the board lost 5 wickets but still they were able to get it in 19 overs. Aussie star wicket-keeper batsman Brad Haddin and Pakistan Test Team captain Misbah-ul-Haq much needed innings led United’s for a 5 wicket win.
