Matric part-II exams were being postponed at eleventh hour by Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi after keeping in view the situation of Rawalpindi district and areas nearby as people from around the country arrived in Rawalpindi to preform funeral of Mumtaz Qadri, who was the killer of Governor Salman Taseer.
Matriculation exams part-II session 2016 were to be kicked off from today in Punjab, but students were not so sure that there exams will be held as per the schedule announced as the security was high alert and protest were being arranged at different areas of the country by believers of Qadri. Although, such announcement was not made as the security was well set and any of the unfortunate event following the protest wasn’t reported.
At the same time, Matric students of Rawalpindi were not so sure about their exam as funeral of Mumtaz Qadri was to be preformed today at Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi and in accordance to it masses from around the country arrived to the city which directly caused traffic jams at different areas of the city.
Following this, Chairman BISE Rawalpindi Dr Mohammad Zareef postponed the exam in Rawalpindi city and cantonment.
On the other hand, the markets and shops in Rawalpindi were also closed as security was high alerted as masses have been in the city for the last rituals of Mumtaz Qadri.
