On Thursday morning Metro Bus Service (MBS) Lahore was suspended by the government officials over security concerns.
Sources, told that a district level meeting was set between Chief Secretary, District Coordination Officer (DCO), Commissioner and other top officials, which concluded the suspension of MBS for indefinite period.
Here it should also mentioned that all the 29 metro bus station are strictly monitored as CCTV cameras are placed around.
Sources also told that Metro Bus service was called off by the authorities as the intelligence reports stated that MBS could be attacked by the terrorists.
The government’s call over suspending the MBS system will be disturbing the schedules of the Lahore residents as thousands of people use this transportation service.
Yet it is not sure that when Metro Bus Services will be restored as spokesperson of this service said that till 5 pm (today) the services will be opened. On the other hand, Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashud has told media that Metrobus Service Lahore will remain close for two days.
This urban transportation was set by the Chief Minister of Punjab back in 2011. And now it is looked after by the Punjab Metrobus Authority (PMA).
