Processions and Mehfils are being organized nationwide in remembrance of the Karbaala martyrs. To ensure the security and safety of its citizens, mobile phone service will be suspended in the major cities of countries.
The suspension of mobile phone services is nothing new in Pakistan, as previously this is being under practice since the PPP led government to ensure security.
As per the official confirmation this time mobile phone service will also be suspended on 10th Muharram, though for the less time.
As per the sources, the mobile phone services in major cities of Pakistan will remain suspended from 12:30 pm to 07:30 am.
Mobile cellular services, WiMAX, EvDO, CDMA and other wireless devices user will also suffer under the same notification for the similar time.
10th Muharram Ashura
The whole month of Muharram especially 10th (also called Day of Ashura or Youme Ashura) has equal importance in the eye of Sunni and Shia Muslims. Many Muslims fast during these days especially on the last 8th, 9th and 10th Muharram on the instructions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The 10th of Muharram is part of Mourning of Muharram for Shia Muslims.
Processions, Niyaz, Mataam, Noha Khawani and Mehfils are the most common way adopted by Muslims to acknowledge devoutness of the martyrs of Karbaala.
