The Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar on Thursday launched the long-awaited ‘Online Passport Renewal’ service through which can get the renewal of passport while just sitting at the luxuries of his/her houses.
The work on E-passport service was underway since long, and it was excepted to launch earlier in April this year.
It will be worth mentioning here that the latest launched service is only for the foregn residing Pakistanis, though in next 6 months people in Pakistan would also be able to avail the service .
“After six months it [the service] will also be available inside Pakistan,” said Chaudhry Nisar while speaking at the launch event.
At the same time, Federal Interior Minister also lauded the role Passport Office and NADRA for introducing the online service and bringing other intiative like complaint resolution service, mega centres, SMS service and home delivery.
It will be worth mentioning here that there are only 95 passport offices throughout Pakistan, which makes it hassle free for the one asking for passport or going for a renewal.
The latest initiative will be expanding Pakistan-wide in next 1-2 years after getting operational within the country in next 6 months.
Those who want to renew their passport online can register themselves at Directorate General of Immigration and Passports.
