As it is being numerous times mentioned earlier that Pakistan Cinema is on its way to success. That might be a questionable thing and it can be simply diished by the superb films like Manto. Amid the entries submitted by over 90 countries at the Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF), Sarmad Khosat’s Manto still managed the space to prove itself and was able to rake 2 awards.
The 8th Jaipur Film Festival (JIFF) was held from January 2-January 6 at the pink city Jaipur, India. ‘Manto’ which marks the directorial debut of extremely talented Sarmad Khoosat at the silver screen was highly appreciated by the film critics and audience.
Undoubtedly, it was one of the crucial venture of Sarmad Khoosat as he also played the lead role of Saadat Hassan Manto in the film. But even with such a burden on his responsible shoulders, the director-actor of the film scintillated the film with his classical taste.
The film was a huge hit on the board in Pakistan and with such success, many were envious of the credibility of Sarmad Khoosat. Apart from all the applauses, ovations, many also tried to make this film fail on the board by terming it a controversial or a one sided story.
Here it should be kept mentioned, that Manto is the biographical drama film based on life vents of the short-story writer Sadat Hassan Manto 1912-1955, who in his late carrer produced some sshort stories which were ermed obscene and further Manto was thrice times charged of the obscenity.

The Pakistani feature film was able to bag two Awards at the rapidly growing film festival.
