The PML-N led government in their 3 years of regime so far has unleashed several projects for youth of Pakistan. From introducing foreign scholarships to awarding laptops to the brilliant students, youth of Pakistan has always been the top priority of their government.
To clear their stance of empowering nation by education, in latest move Punjab government has launched Shahbaz Sharif Merit Scholarship (SSMS), which will be awarding the foreign scholarships for the Ph.D level. Under this move the meritorious students of Punjab will be awarded Ph.D level education at the top ranked universities globally.
Here it should be kept mentioned that approval of Shahbaz Sharif Merit Scholarship was done by CM Punjab on 9th April, 2016 after a high-level meeting.
While talking at the meeting he told that under SSMS, every year 30 students for ph.D level would be sent to the top universities across the globe.
Shahbaz Sharif Merit Scholarship 2016 (SSMS) details
Eligibility Criteria Shahbaz Sharif Merit Scholarship 2016
Students fulfilling the following criterion shall be eligible to apply for SSMS
a) Valid admission offer from Top 50 (Subject wise) Universities of the World (QS ranking) in preferred subject areas
b) Not less than 60% marks throughout the academic career.
c) Declared monthly income of parents (from all sources) is equal to or less than Rs. 200,000/-
d) Age limit (at the time of application) should not be more than 35 years
e) Not availed any foreign scholarship in the past .
f) Must take up the scholarship in the year for which it is offered and the scholarship shall not be deferred to the next year.
g) All Pakistani Nationals, both males and females are eligible to apply.
Note: Existing faculty members of all public sector teaching / educational institutions of Pakistan are not eligible for SSMS
SSMS 2016 Scholarship will be providing:
- Tuition fees of the Degree Course
- Boarding & Lodging (as per approved rates)
- Air Fare
Discipline wise allocation of Shahbaz Sharif Merit Scholarship
- 80 % scholarships are reserved for science disciplines
- 20% of scholarships are reserved for Social Sciences/Humanities & Arts.
Note: 90 scholarships will be provided to students from Punjab , and remaining 10% all be allocated to the students from other federating units of Pakistan.
