You might have been just watching Uber in films or might have heard its success stories. But now its reachable for Lahoris as Uber has launched it services in Lahore, Pakistan.
The buzz about Uber entering Pakistan was in the air from a long time, although people got sure about their arrival when the jobs related Lahore were posted on Uber’s official site. Further the higher ups of company also unveiled about their program of going live in Pakistan.
In a pre-launch ceremony regarding Ubers official set up in Lahore, official told that Uber will be moving on the roads of Lahore from 12 PM tomorrow and will be charging at the price of Rs 13.7 per kilometer.
In the event, the top officails of Uber spoke about their interest in launching this service in the second largest city of Pakistan.
“We’re extremely excited to be here, there’s huge potential in this market and people have welcomed us with open arms,” explains Loic Amado, international launcher at Uber.
“Twenty per cent of all ecommerce transactions happen in Lahore, which is why we’re here first. We’re looking forward to filling a gap in the existing transportation network.”
The attendees of the event also showed huge interest in expanding Uber’s services in other cities of Pakistan. From their talks it can be assumed that the next destination for Uber will be Karachi.
Suzuki Swifts, Toyota Vitz, Toyota Corollas, Honda Civics and other cars of this type will be used by the Uber intially, later they might get changed as they even rode some costliest cars in other countries.
