The day of Pakistan Day is very close and the Federal Government has officially announced the public holiday on this historical day. According to a circular of Ministry of Interior, there will be a public holiday across the country on Pakistan Day, March 23, 2017.
The notice regarding public holidays in Pakistan in the year 2017 was issued by the Ministry of Interior on January 11, 2016, that contains the Pakistan Day in the section of Public Holidays for the Year 2017.
23 March that is also said as Pakistan Day has great importance in the history of Pakistan. Every year it is being celebrated to mark the Lahore Resolution for Pakistan that was held on March 23, 1940. Lahore Resolution that was later on called as Pakistan Day Resolution is said to be the major milestone in the struggle of Muslims in present Pakistan and Bangladesh for an independent state in the undivided Hindustan.
At the day of the event, Pakistan’s National Flag will be hoisted on all government buildings. A 31-gun salute in the Capital and 21-gun salute in the provincial capitals will be fired. On this important day, the change of guards at the mausoleum Founder of Pakistan Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Mufakkir e Pakistan Allama Muhammad Iqbal will occur, followed by garlands that will be laid as well. As usual, the parade will be one of the leading events of the day that is expected to be celebrating at Constitution Avenue, Islamabad. An award ceremony will be organized where the President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain will give the civilian and military awards to those Pakistanis who have achieved a good name for the country in the last year. Special programs and speeches will be broadcasted from the TV and Radio Channels.
Rehearsals for the Pakistan Day parade are already in the full swing. The full dress rehearsal, as usual, will be held on March 21. After the consecutive gap of seven years, this will be the second Parade of Pakistan Day.
