1. Check Tone Sound in Phone Line
If the line is dead, you most probably won’t have the Internet or any Telephony services. You should check the internal wiring in the house. It should be connected and not broken. Sometimes line cable is broken outside the premises due to some large vehicle passing outside your place, which breaks the wire resulting into the no tone sound.
2. Check Noise Level in PTCL Line
You should check the level of noise of your PTCL connection. Use telephone headset to determine the level of noise. If you find noise in the line, connect directly and change your internal wiring in the house. If the issue still persists call 1218 to make complain about noise in the line. Remember make complain about Noise in the phone line, not slow Internet.
3. Check DSL Modem Power
It happens in many cases PTCL DSL modem is underpowered and completely out of power. Simple change adapter and power on the device.
4. Check PTCL Phone Wire Inside House
This is the most common issue which causes disconnection or no connectivity at all. Remove DSL splitter/filter and Connect PTCL Wire Directly to DSL Modem. Remember: Do not use internal wiring of the house to test this method.
5. Restart DSL Modem
Many devices hang while resulting in no connectivity, restart your modem and Internet connectivity will resume.
6. Change Router DNS to Google / OpenDNS
Many websites do not open or work properly on PTCL’s DNS servers. Simple change DNS servers of your router and better browsing experience.

DSL Light Blinking Problem:
Dear Customer if the DSL light on modem is blinking or off then please follow the following steps:
- Verify your splitter connection. Modem/phone should be connected in their relevant ports.
- If they are not properly placed then place properly and check.

- Remove networking if using.
- Remove torrents and proxy if using.

Dear customer if the internet light on modem is on and you are facing no browsing issue the please follow the following steps:
Problem in WIFI:
- Check WLAN IP settings. (Should be automatic)
- Please verify WLAN light on modem (should be on)
- In case the WLAN light is off then please press the WLAN button on modem to turn on then check.
- If WLAN is enabled but there is a cross on WIFI on laptop then please turn on the WIFI from the laptop then check.
- Check browser proxy settings (should be unchecked)
- Check on different browsers if available.
