Federal Ministry of Interior has banned usage of WhatsApp in all government offices. According to Express News Pakistan, the Ministry has issued circular to all government offices regarding security issues of certain mobile applications not to use in public offices, and WhatsApp is on top of the list.
Stating the reasons behind this step, the Ministry in its circular mentioned that WhatsApp shares the information over international servers without the prior permission of the users. Many cellular companies have already shown their concern over the data sharing system of WhatsApp along with many other messaging and calling applications.
The Ministry has also instructed the users not to open any email or attachment at all unless any leading antivirus or firewall application is installed on the smartphone.
