With the successful completion of Pakistan Super League Final 2017 in Lahore, Pakistan Cricket Board and law enforcement agencies have proved that they can take all measures to bring back the international cricket to home. Today in the world of cricket, Pakistan has achieved one of the greatest milestones that it was planning to get at any cost. The international cricket governing body, ICC, is planning to hold series of T20 matches – comprising world class players, in Pakistan.
According to the press release of International Cricket Council, at least four matches of Independence Cup series will take place in Lahore in the month of September of running year. ICC has not released the list of teams and players.
Giles Clarke, President of the England and Wales Cricket Board, has said that they are looking for the ways to end a drought of international cricket in Pakistan. He appreciated the struggles of PCB to hold PSL Final 2017 in Lahore. He commented that with the launch of key match of PSL Final 2017, PCB has proved that cricket can be staged in Lahore.
“The desire is to give the cricket-starved Pakistani supporters the chance to see some of the world’s finest players in live action,” Clarke said. “The world of cricket needs to help Pakistan, who cannot continue to play their home fixtures overseas. The youth need inspiring, and the national teams need far more cricket played in familiar terrain. Furthermore, the terrorists cannot win, and cricket must not give up on Pakistan.”
Chairman Executive Committee of Pakistan Cricket Board Najam Sethi has shared the good news over Twitter.
