On the order of the Government of the Punjab, the Punjab Police is finally going to get a new live green outfit to replace traditional black and khaki uniform. The officials of Punjab Police in most of the areas have started to wear the new outfit rather than old one.
The new uniform has got mix response. Some are appreciating it while most persons are criticizing the color because it is not according to universal approval and is dull at the same time. “Picture of the one shared earlier with the regional police officers (RPOs) and district police officers (DPOs) before final approval was more attractive and graceful than the one to be distributed now,” a police employee told media. “This is the appropriate time to review the design and colour of the uniform according to the one shown to us earlier,” the employee asserted.
Punjab Police press department has made it clear that uniform will be available at the police lines only and purchase of uniform from the open market is not allowed at all. To ensure the process, shops will be set up in each district police lines, and public tailors will prepare the uniform. From constable to IG police, all will wear the uniform of the same color.
Proper implementation of new uniform will start from March 27, 2017. Punjab Police Press Department has also stated that selling of uniform in the open market will not allow at all and those violating the law will be held liable.
