Pakistan Green Kabaddi team defeated the strong Indian Kabaddi team by 40-29 to win the international kabaddi Taakra on Sunday. The match was played at Punjab Stadium and Pakistan team outclass them with their performance. Meanwhile, Pakistan white team beat Iran by a margin of 31-24.
Pakistan Green great skills and dominated the game from the start. The performance of two Pakistani players Musharraf Janjua and Jaabar Kamboh was outstanding. Musharraf was the best stopper, and Jaabar was the best raider of the finale. From the Indian side, the skipper Partap Singh and Harjeet Singh showed good form for their team. In the 3rd/4th place clash, Nafees Gujjar and Irfan were adjudged best stopper and raider respectively. A cash prize of 16 lakh was given to participating teams.
Punjab senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, Sports Minister Rai taimoor, PKF President Shafay Hussain, Secretary Punjab Nadeem Mehboob, DG Iran Consulate Ali Akbar Rezai, DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar were the guests of honor on the big final day. The prizes were distributed by Punjab Sports Minster rai taimoor, PKF President and DG General Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar among the best performers of the tournament. There were a large number of kabaddi enthusiasts were present in the stadium to support the green team on the final day.
On this big occasion, Senior Punjab Minster Aleem khan thanked the participation of Indian and Iranian kabaddi teams. He said that this would be a good omen for the future of sports in Pakistan and he appreciated the performance of all participating teams. Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor said that Punjab government would do its best efforts to promote kabaddi in the province. He also said that we would hold more international sports events in the future to promote international sports in Pakistan.
