Pakistan’s Tamgha-e-Imtiaz receiver Mehwish Hayat called as ‘item girl’ by Asmir Liaquat for her recent tweet censured the killing of the Iranian General Leader Qasem Soleimani. Mehwish Hayat is well-known for her roles in Load Wedding, Punjab Nahi Jaaungi, and Actor-In-Law. Her most notable drama serial was Nadeem Baig’s Dil Lagi where she was paired with the Pakistani Hero Humayuun Syed. She also received a Lux Style Awards for Best Television actress and many nominations for the Best Actress at Lux Style Awards. She is known for her blockbuster hit Punjab Nahi Jaungi and got attention for her notable work Jawani Phir Nahi Aani. Mehwish Hayat is everyone’s favorite and she has got immense love and appreciation for her work. The actress was marked by the sexist remark by the host/politician Aamir Liaquat Hussain however, the actress bashes him back.
Mehwish tweeted on 3rd January 2020, “Can’t believe that just 72 hours into 2020 and the world is already teetering on the edge of war. I guess that this is what happens when the ‘leader of the free world’ takes unilateral decisions without regard for international laws. This isn’t just abt Iran and the USA.” She further said that God Protect us and her tweet with the following hashtag #Soleimani. While Replying to her comment, Aamir Liaquat Hussain passes the sexist comment on Mehwish and calling her an ‘item girl’ also telling her to refrain herself from giving irrelevant comments on such political issues. While, Mehwich bashes back at him saying, “This ‘item girl’ is exercising her democratic right to have an opinion whereas you keep stooping to making personal jibes and nothing more. Man up! BTW whatever happened to the case you were filling against me for ‘Load Wedding’ I have been waiting with bated breath.”
In March last year, Aamir Hayat claimed that Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat’s movie ‘Load Wedding’ is based on his life whereas the makers have defamed him and wrongly portrayed the scenario without his consent. It may be noted that Aamir Liaquat had warned to entreat Load Wedding for supposedly slandering him.
