Sometimes easy access to any thing compels the mischievous minds to use it for their wrong deed and make harms to others. So is the case with you tube. www.youtube.com is the most widely used video hosting website all over the world which is the best source of uploading, watching and downloading any video of quality and codes within minutes.
Using YouTube as a source of religious attack is not a new scenario now. The obvious reaction of relevant affected community is to ban YouTube for a certain time period. Afterwards, its reopened because it has become a “Necessity Evil” of present digital life.
The ratio of uploading profane and wicked videos on YouTube has increased in the past years. In order to protest against the recent immoral act of uploading profane videos regarding the personality and personal life of the Holy prophet (S.A.W.W) on YouTube, Pakistan blocked its entire access thought local ISPs on September 17,2012. Another aspect lies here: YouTube blocked its access in various countries like Egypt, Libya, Malaysia, Singapore and India except Pakistan.
Another question mark, why was request of blocking anti-Islam videos by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority PTA, not entertained by YouTube in spite the fact that YouTube has power and control over blocking any copy of video(or replica) in any country. In many cases, URL filtering at local ISPs level is not possible and chances of availability of offensive videos remain same. Thus YouTube has authority to block such type of videos within no minutes.
Blocked YouTube is better or not, better for government or not is another debate. The issue of banned YouTube was left behind by the case of Malala Yousafzai incident which is now regained its importance by the media.
Interior Minister Mr. Rehman Malik gave a hint that the government of Pakistan can consider opening the access of YouTube in Pakistan if blasphemous video are blocked by website for viewing in the country. This lousy condition will be fulfilled by YouTube or not. Let’s wait!
