A new TV channel “BOL” is offering high salaries to journalists and those anchors that are very famous. For instance Kamran Khan, Talat Hussain, Shahzeb Khanzada, Jasmine Manzoor and many other big names are in the list.
BOL channel’s website shows that Malik Riaz is the owner of this channel and everyone knows how much money does this property tycoon Malik Riaz can throw to get what he wants.
Famous newscasters Ayesha Bakhsh and Junaid Ahmad are also on this list. Famous anchors like named above are offered up to 1 Crore monthly salary.
BOL television’s licence was held back by the court and soon a verdict is going to be given on this decision.
According to some sources, a very important electronic media figure has claimed that bringing together all the top names of the industry in one place is not a good thing and it will create a situation of monopoly.
BOL TV has started hiring on a massive scale throughout the country. Although the head office is in Lahore but hiring is carried out nationwide.
From anchors and newscasters to wardrobe designers, set designers and makeup artists, BOL TV is hiring for everything.
Initially the news said that interior ministry withdrew the NOC of BOL TV due to the following reasons.
–Company was said to be owned by the property tycoon Malik Riaz
–Petitioners wanted to know about the source of funding that is being used to run a huge media house such as BOL TV
–Court has asked PEMRA to listen to point of view of petitioners and then decide
BOL TV is a part of “Labbaik (pvt) Ltd and BOL News was issued to a company whose name is Asia News Network and its owner was Malik Riaz back in 2008.
The company was bound to start the transmission within 12 months after the issuance of license but it failed to do so.
A lot is yet to be revealed but if this channel becomes operational, there is going to be a media war in Pakistan for sure.
