According to a survey conducted by the Indian newspaper “India Today”, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar tops the list of glamorous women politicians of the world. She left behind ladies like Michelle Obama, Queen Rania Abdullah, Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin, Rubi Dhalla, Priyanka Gandhi, Yulia Tymoshenko and Sonia Gandhi. Kashmala Tariq resides at 8th in the ranking.
Not only she is beautiful and attractive but she also has a good choice of fashionable dresses and expensive handbags. She is considered very well known for her stylish dressing and handbags in national and international media circles. Indian media spotted her sporting bags from some of the luxurious brands like Louis Vuitton, Prada and Salvatore Ferragamo. With a conservative neat look, her sense for dress accompanied by luxurious and perfectly matching accessories was highly praised by Indian media during her visit to New Delhi in 2011. Although sometimes it is criticized as well that it is not ethical to carry such expensive accessories while representing a poor nation like Pakistan.
Hina Rabbani Khar is the daughter of Nur Rabbani Khar who formerly served as an MNA in Pakistan National Assembly. She is the neice of Ghulam Mustafa Khar, who has formerly served as Governor and Chief Minister of Punjab. She is the cousin of Pakistan’s super model Amna Haq. In 1999 she did her graduation from LUMS (Lahore University of Management Sciences) in Economics. After that she attended University of Massachusetts to attain MSc in Business Management in 2002.
She was appointed Minister of State for Economic Affairs in 2004 during Shaukat Aziz government till 2007. Again she was appointed on the same post in 2008 during Yousaf Raza Gillani regime. She became the first woman politician in Pakistan who presented the budget of Pakistan in National Assembly. On 19th of July 2011 she officially became the youngest ever as well as the first female Minister of Foreign Affairs in Pakistan.
Two major controversies related to her political career are ill-payment of electricity bills by Galaxy Textile Mills which is owned by her husband Feroz Gulzar and her father in law. According to sources Galaxy Textile Mills did not pay an outstanding bill of 70 million rupees. The second scandal is her alleged involvement in romance with PPPP co-chairman Bilalwal Bhutto Zardari.
