Designed to be one of the cheapest available Android 4.0 tablets, Micromax Funbook P300 has a limited functionality. According to Micromax this is the first tablet which is developed in India. Very light in weight and it is slim as well. Therefore the ebook reading is very comfortable with this device. The area around the screen is quite thin and it could have been made a little thinner to make the device look good. The buttons for Home, Options and Back seems quite useless and occupy the extra space. It also boasts mini-USB port, micro-HDMI and a slot for SD card as well as a port for charging. This version of the Funbook comes with the operating system Android 4.0.3 and a pure Ice Cream Sandwich environment within the tablet is provided. Interface will get slower every now and then and might be a little frustrating at times. Touch sensitivity is not great at all and can be ranked as performing average only. In this model Micromax has used ARM Cortex-A8 single core 1.2 GHz processor. 512MB RAM is what it ships with and provides a pleasant multimedia experience. Mali-400 Megapixel GPU is great but not every game runs smooth enough on this tablet. Angry Birds Space runs smooth on the tablet and it gives you an idea of what kind of games can be played smoothly on this tablet. Micromax hasn’t played around with the media player and the stock media player has been used. Audio quality is good enough and speakers of the tablet will function quite well in a small room. Screen resolution is not rated good because it is only 800 x 480 and at this resolution the icons seems quite stretched. Aspect ratio is also affected by the screen resolution and it is not great at all. Especially the Gtalk is looking very badly laid out at this screen resolution.
