PPP is the largest political party of Pakistan. On Monday two of their official websites were hacked. It is noteworthy to mention that PPP is already under threats from extremists. TTP (Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan) is the main terrorising agent that has issued warning to PPP that they can attack PPP candidates during the election campaign.
A group of hackers, who introduced themselves as “Pakistani Haxors” hacked the Urdu website of PPP and UK chapter website as well and left the message “your system has been hacked” on the website. They mentioned their names on the website as Haxor Hasnain, Zaryab Jamil, King Haxor, Nadan Shahzada, Raho Haxor, Hunter Khan and Daniyal.
Identity and location of the hackers is unknown and they used common methods of changing spellings and changed them with numerals. PPP policy, planning and media central incharge confirmed that two websites of the PPP were hacked by unknown personnel and experts are working to get these websites functional as soon as possible.
He said that this way the hackers have deprived people of the right to get information about activities of PPP. He further said that PPP candidates are being targeted by extremists and they are trying to keep them away from activities for election and harass them. He further said that these extremists will fail in their agenda and PPP will not stop and will not fear these extremists.
Reminding you of the fact that this is the first election where not only election campaigns are run on roads and in public rallies, but the war is being fought on social media very actively and social media is playing a pivotal role in the election campaigns 2013.
