Opportunities Awaits for Pakistani Players in Pakistan T20 Super Circket League, English Players Warned Off for participation.
Pakistani players are expected to earn between 5000$ to 100k$ in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) which will commence on March 26, 2013. They are scheduled to return from South Africa a day before the first season will start.
The national squad members who left for South Africa on January 20 were hinted at the expected money they would earn from the T20 tournament. This was told to them after apprehensions of some players on their tight schedule as they would return home only a day before PSL will start which would make them not getting involved in the bidding process and franchise selection.
However, PSL Sarwar Salman Butt assured that their interests shall be well taken care of and that they would be informed of the developments that include the final players list will be available for the bidding process with the bid amount. Sources said that the list shall be about 75 players and will be finalized for the five franchises by the national selection committee.
Meanwhile, English players were warned off of the PSL.
The PSL could have more than $100 million worth but English players are warned against participating. The union of players in England Professional Cricketers Association (PCA) reportedly has concerns about the security situation in Pakistan. It has asked each county to refuse the issue of No Objection Certificates (NOC), which would not permit players to join.
PCA chief executive Angus Porter said that they advised players not to take part and that England shall not issue NOC to the players who are centrally contracted.
