On Thursday, Pakistan Muslim League Quid-e-Azam (PML-Q) arranged a dance party in the name of a ‘’Cultural Event”. It was held in the main Secretariat of the party in Islamabad. Sultana Gul, PML-Q cultural wing’s head arranged such a scandalous event. All the big guns of the party attended the event and encouraged it. A cultural event is one which truly depicts culture, tradition and civilization. And if it could not do so then it must not a ‘’Cultural Event”. Same thing has happened in the boorish party arranged by PML-Q leadership. Various dance performances pleased the beholders, in that ‘’vain event”. One of the dance video was also uploaded on the internet which enraged many mature Pakistanis. In that video, a woman in black having deep neckline was dancing without ‘’Dupatta”. She was especially invited from Lahore to dance and entertain. Her unrefined dance captured media’s attention and media released its video in which Pakistan ex-Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed along with other PML-Q top leadership was enjoying it. Pakistani nation detested such crude event in the name of ‘’Cultural Event”.

Pakistani culture never encourages woman to dance in this way publicly. Its culture encourages its people to follow Islāmic teachings and not indulging in such sort of impish activities. People filled a plea to disqualify the leaders like Chaudry Shujaat and Mushahid Hussain from Supreme Court. They said that it was not what Islam and Pakistani culture are all about. Pakistan Election Commission Secretory, Kunwar Dilshad Ahmed responded to that filthy event and said that they could also boycott the PML-Q party leadership from taking part in the elections 2013. Furthermore, he said the act is grave and it is not even in line with the Pakistani Law. Election Commission of Pakistan took a serious notice over the issue and asked the party to send the event’s video, especially the ‘’controversial dance video”. As a Pakistani top leadership, it was not a responsible act to arrange and take part in an event like that. It was truly shameful and shocking for the ones who really know the meaning of Pakistan. Pakistani culture does not promote such events, and being a true Pakistani we must reject it so that next time no party would dare arranging such scornful ceremony to disgrace Pakistan’s culture.
