Sohail Ahmad is definitely not an unknown back-stage celebrity that I must start introducing him at first. He is simply a “Live legend” with multiple talents. Basically, he belongs from the famous Lahori Stage but he is equally popular on TV and newspapers, for he started writing for the papers recently. He is a born comedian and is always applauded for his comic characters; most notable among them is “Azizi”. Before saying something about Azizi, I would love to share a quote related to this character first, i.e.
“The most difficult character in comedy is that of the fool, and he must be no simpleton that plays that part.”
Same is the case with loveable “Azizi.” He is not a feeding child yet acts like one to portray his part as a common citizen of Pakistan, which is always be-fooled by big guns of our society. Azizi is thus a silent observer and an exploited poor fellow; who could not do anything about it but at the same time, not able to close his eyes even.
Sohail Ahmad is awarded for performing this role. The Gujaranwala born actor has all the guts to mesmerise both on stage and on television. He is an essential artist at Lahore theatres and all stage shows. Being also a director and writer himself on stage, his plays are largely liked and sold. Sohail Ahmad got many feathers in his cap; he is a celebrated comedian on stage at one hand, on the other he is a grave, serious and stern artist.
When you see him on stage, he would be a silly, ridiculing and mocking fellow, with less or no brain but meeting him in dramas would tell another story; he would be acting as if he has never laughed for years. This is what a true actor is all about; he fixes himself in a character like a picture fixes in a frame. Though it is hard to count his number of plays but a few of them are shared here for the viewers to know: Rent a Pyar, Baba Cable, Andleeb, Kajal Ghar, Din, Hasb-e-Haal, Home Sweet Home,Khawaja Online, Baran Masaly and many more.
