It has been a long time that Pakistani Cinema is failing again and again to bring its viewers something that they can cheer about. A lot of discussion has been done about the demise of Pakistani Cinema in the past. Although these discussions were not able to boost up Pakistani Cinema but at least they triggered something good. Tarang which is a brand of Engro Foods has been working actively for the past few years to help Lollywood redeem its glory by introducing young and talented actors and actresses via the platform of its advertising campaigns. These efforts include “Hero Bannay ki Tarang” and “Kon Banega Meer aka Patti”. In these efforts of Tarang, many talented local youth were showcased and Tarang was able to give this talent a modern touch as well.
In their latest effort, Tarang has tried to give an opportunity to veteran and newbie filmmakers like Syed Noor, Yasir Nawaz, Mehreen Jabbar and Nadeem Baig to come behind the camera and give audience of Lollywood an unforgettable experience.
Xenith PR in coordination with Tarang Housefull provided a red carpet premiere of Syed Noor’s film “Dewar Bhabhi” in Lahore. The story of the film revolves around the relationship between a University student (Sami Khan) and his bhabhi (Saima). They have a strong bond of devotion as well as affection between them and it has grown stronger over the years. The idea seems convincing and engaging with a filmy touch. Syed Noor has given Lollywood some super hit films in the past like Choorian, Jeeva and Deewanay Teray Pyar Ke but songs, acting and screenplay were some of the apparent reasons the film was not categorised as great. Saima was fresh and beautiful but this role was not perfectly for her and thus these things make the film just another Lollywood film.
There was only one impressive song sung by “Sur Kshetra” winner Nabeel Shaukat. The song “Tum wohi ho lo tumhain aaj bata detay hain” was the best of all the songs and rest of the songs were just a waste of the talent, money and time and they did not worth much.
All being said, Tarang Housefull is a great platform, but the now it is up to the directors and producers to bring something forth that could prove to be useful for the revival of the Lollywood as it was in the past.
