Muhammad Farman Ali and Muhammad Arif Ali, the famous cannibal brothers of Bhakkar are sentenced to 12 years in prison. Latest arrest of the two brothers was made after the skull of a young boy was found in their home. They exhumed and devoured the body and were arrested after the discovery. Both brothers will complete their sentence in Mian Wali Prison.
An anti-terrorism court of Punjab prosecuted the brothers of the act and the brothers were found guilty of defiling a grave, destroying property and disseminating fear. It is noteworthy to mention that no laws specifically against the cannibalism exist in Pakistan. The brothers will be allowed to file an appeal in Lahore High Court.
Before their latest arrest, both brothers served two years in prison. They were convicted of digging and eating more than 150 dead bodies. They were released in May 2013 but they were unable to resume normal life and once again started to consume dead human flesh. Their neighbors complained to the authorities and they were arrested once again on 14th of April, 2014.
Their cannibal activities were first unveiled back in 2011 in a village of Darya Khan area. A young girl was buried but next day her dead body was found missing from the grave. Police and people found the brothers at their home with the dead body of the young girl and bones of other bodies as well.
During investigations, the cannibal brothers said that their mother was killed by their father. They discovered this method to avenge their childhood by cooking and eating the dead bodies.
