PTCL EVO or PTCL EVDO service is provided by PTCL in Pakistan but the customer experience is not satisfactory at all. Major reason of dissatisfaction is weak coverage and bad signals. Most of the customers reportedly end up returning the USB devices within three day time.
PTCL has the policy of allowing the return of EVO device within three day time if the signals are weak or non-existent at your workplace or home OR if you are not satisfied with the service. The cash is not returned instantly and you will have to wait for one month before you get back the amount in form of a cheque.
So if you are one of those who need wireless internet to work for them, you can try these two mechanisms before you return the device due to poor or weak coverage and signals. In order to increase the signal strength of PTCL EVO device, follow the instructions given in the following two methods.
Method 1
Find a CD having no cover on any of the two sides. Normally CDs have a sticker on one side. Remove the sticker and flip this CD over EVO device antenna. This should boost the signals.
Method 2
For this method to work, you will need a thin wire. Silver or copper are preferable. Start turning the wires around EVO antenna in order to form a spiral around. The figure shows how to do it. Top part should consume around 10 cm and then add 3-4 spirals that will consume around 5 cm. A straight wire should be left of length of around 1.5 cm.
To turn the wire to form a spiral shape, try twisting it around a pencil or pen.
Method 3
Use your PTCL EVO or Nitro dongle in an open space. Generally using it on your roof provide very good results. If you have a USB extention cable, do utilize it and keep the dongle in open place like in the window or near the door. It does help most of the times.
