Designer Aslam Azad and manufacturer Ahmad Aslam in capital city of Pakistan have successfully designed a car that totally runs on solar panels. Although it is nowhere near the final version but the initial design is out and ready for testing purposes. After testing purposes, efforts will be made to improve the design further. Current version of the car has a battery that can run a car for 80 kilometers and the maximum speed that can be attained by this car is 80 kilometer per hour.
Another great feature of the car is that it can also be charged from direct source of electricity. There are 5 transmission gears and the body is also strong enough to support 80 kilometers per hour. The car is functional and not just a theory or only in papers but the car really works. It is two-seater at the moment. If it is charged from electricity, it is really cheap as per kilometer this car will consume only 1 Rupee of electricity which is astonishingly low.
It is quite evident that if efforts like these are backed up by government of Pakistan then we can produce this kind of cars locally and save huge amounts in terms of fuel. Electric motor is not Pakistani but other than that every single part is made in Pakistan. Islamabad Excise and Taxation has even allotted this car registration and number IDE 9555 is given to this car.
Watch the video featuring this great invention by Pakistanis and if this project is given importance in Pakistan, soon this car could be one of the best inventions in Pakistan.
